The paths around the zoo (not inside it) offer great tree cover and consistent foot traffic, which is actually useful for dogs who need some low-key desensitization before settling into a calmer pose.
Best in early morning light, with the skyline as a backdrop. Works especially well for high-energy dogs who benefit from open space to burn off some initial excitement before we start shooting.
Some of our favorite Lincoln Park portraits come from quiet residential side streets: brick backdrops, string lights, and far fewer distractions than the main paths.
